Saturday 17th September, Millennium Park, Kilmacthomas, 11.30 a.m.
Festival activities begin early on Saturday with ‘Walk on the Wild Side’. Festival-goers are encouraged to join wildlife enthusiast and photographer Paddy Dwan for a free event as he explores the hedgerows and wildlife along the wonderful new Waterford Greenway and forages for autumn fruits. The meeting point is the Millennium Park, Kilmacthomas at 11.30 a.m. on Saturday. The new Greenway is a magnificent piece of recreational, environmental and tourism infrastructure. This is one of the first formal festival events to be organised on this once throbbing 45 km long railway line from Waterford to Dungarvan.
Paddy Dwan is a photographer par excellence with a magnificent eye for beauty and an inspiring love of nature. Also well known in theatrical circles, to be in his company is, quite simply, to be drawn into the beauty of life. Paddy’s photographs have appeared in various exhibitions and he has produced and collaborated with others, notably Mark Roper, in the production of great publications - stunning nature and poetic portraits of such as the River Suir and the Back Strand in Tramore.
