Participants in the 2015 Tour raised €18,136 for the Irish Pilgrimage Trust
Let’s put in a huge effort in 2016 and try to better those figures!
Our nominated charity for the 2016 Sean Kelly Tour of Waterford is once again the Irish Pilgrimage Trust.
The Irish Pilgrimage Trust is a 32 county charitable organisation caring for young people with special needs, regardless of creed or ethnic background. We now care for more than 1,100 disadvantaged, ill, disabled or marginalised young people annually. Our guests receive week long holiday breaks in Ireland and France under the care of our teams of volunteer carers, nurses and doctors. Our guest’s families and carers also benefit directly through respite breaks. We are organised on a Regional basis with 60 groups nationwide.
The Trust is run by a board of volunteer trustees who direct and manage the Trust through its administration head office in Kilcuan, Clarinbridge, County Galway. Our guest’s costs are paid in full by the Trust while all our volunteers pay their own fares. The Trust does not receive state or public funding and is totally reliant on fundraising and voluntary donations. If you wish to collect for The Irish Pilgrimage Trust, simply ‘tick’ the box on the entry form to request a Sponsorship Card and a card will be sent to you by post. There is also an option to donate to the charity as part of the online entry process.
PLEASE NOTE THAT NONE OF THE ENTRY FEE FOR THE EVENT IS DONATED TO THE NOMINATED CHARITY - THE CHARITY RELIES SOLELY ON DONATIONS FROM PARTICIPANTS.
